      – This is the warmest region all year round. Having lived there for 15 years, I don’t think I ever had the need for a heavy coat. Because of the humidity here having an undergarment is helpful.  If you are hunting from a fixed position wear shorts and a breathable shirt. If hunting hogs during the night in winter and spring jeans or light trousers are recommended along with short or long sleeved shirts.If you will be on the ground chasing hogs your clothing will most likely change. If in the swampy areas you will need waterproof boots or even waders. Lightweight slacks and light shirts most of the time. If you are in tick, snake or thorny areas jeans and even gaitors may be needed.  Have good hunting boots that are not insulated for the cold. Keep your feet clean and dry in this wet enviroment. Utility gloves are helpful with sharp brush.

Typically during these seasons you “light layer” your top shirt with a light sweater, hoodie or jacket. I never used a “northern” type coat here.

      If hunting hog from a fixed position such as a stand or “Mudder”, dress with shorts for most of the year. Concerns here in Central Florida range from numerous poisonous snakes to sharp as a blade sawgrass. If your on the move I recommend light pants or jeans.

During the winter and early spring seasonsI did wear heavier jackets. (I have seen it 32 degrees in the morning and that afternoon…. 70 plus degrees!}Summer months dress similarly to the other regions. In the winter and spring seasons be prepared to wear jeans or slacks. If you are prone to cold… definitely bring them along. Your footwear could be medium insulated hunting boots. There are numerous poisonous snakes and spiney plants here also. You may need gaiters and gloves.
